About Me

Eric Law is a saxophonist, composer, and arranger currently based in Miami, Florida.

Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Eric started playing the piano at the age of 9 before picking up the clarinet and soon after, the saxophone, in middle school. He continued playing throughout high school while learning from some of the foremost educators in the North Carolina scene before moving to East Lansing, Michigan where he would continue his education at Michigan State University. In 2022, Eric graduated from MSU with a Bachelor's in Music while studying under saxophonist Diego Rivera.

Upon his graduation at MSU, Eric moved to Miami, FL to continue his studies at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. In 2024, he graduated with his Master’s of Music under the tutelage of Marcus Strickland.

Eric has performed on stages across the United States and around the world. In 2022, he toured across the United Kingdom with Michael Bublé and his Orchestra for his “Stately Homes” tour. He later joined the band for performances in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in January 2025. In July of 2024, he was a part of the “Kenny Wheeler’s Lost Scores” project, a collaboration between the Frost School of Music and Royal Academy of Music (London, England) where they recorded an album at the historic Abbey Road Studios. In Summer 2023, Eric attended the JAS Academy in Aspen, CO under the direction of Christian McBride. And in 2019 he performed in Tokyo and Kanazawa, Japan with the Michigan State Jazz Orchestra.

He has had the opportunity to perform alongside some of his mentors and heroes as well. Including performances with Rodney Whitaker, Etienne Charles and Creole Soul, the Michael Dease Quintet, Xavier Davis, and Randy Napoleon at venues across the state of Michigan such as the Detroit Jazz Festival, Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, and Blue Llama Jazz Club. In Miami, he has recorded with the Stephen Guerra Big Band for an upcoming album. Eric also plays lead-alto in the South Florida Jazz Orchestra who has performed with Chuck Bergeron, Brian Lynch, Martin Bejerano and others.
