An enthusiastic educator as well, Eric takes an “each one, teach one” mindset in his career and believes it is his responsibility to pass on the torch to the next generation of musicians, just as his mentors did to him.

In his years as a student, Eric has studied jazz saxophone performance, flute and clarinet performance, jazz improvisation and theory, as well as jazz composition and arranging.

For inquiries regarding lessons in any of these fields, please reach out to me below!

  • Students will take a "music-forward" approach to learning saxophone, with focus primarily relying on the study of the recorded jazz saxophone canon supplemented by the study of saxophone technique and jazz theory.

Eric has studied under Diego Rivera, Marcus Strickland, Greg Tardy, Tim Green, Sharel Cassity, and Ted Nash.

  • Students studying jazz composition and arranging will learn fundamental writing techniques through the transcription and analysis of the work of the great writers in the history of jazz. Study may include anything ranging from jazz trio, to octet, to big band, or to studio orchestra.

Eric has studied composition and arranging from Etienne Charles and Stephen Guerra.

  • Eric also offers beginner and intermediate lessons in Clarinet and Flute performance. Students will focus on concepts including: sound production and tone exercises, articulation, classical rep, reading, and technique.

Eric is currently the woodwinds teacher at CAP (Community Arts Program, Coral Gables, FL)
